Governance and Ethics

At Eleusium Centre for Psychedelic Healing and Risk Reduction, we believe that safe, ethical, and intentional psychedelic work begins with strong governance.

Our governance structure ensures clinical oversight, professional accountability, and a clear ethical framework for how we operate as a wellness collective in Ontario.

    Robert Anderston, PhD, RP

    Clinical Director and Founder

Rob provides clinical leadership and oversight for Eleusium’s psychotherapy and integration services. As a Registered Psychotherapist and doctoral-level clinician, Rob ensures that all therapeutic practices align with professional standards, trauma-informed principles, and emerging best practices in psychedelic-assisted care. His clinical direction helps guide practitioner supervision, risk reduction, and continuing education within the collective.

    Hannah Behzadi, MA, C.C.C., RP

    Director of Operations and Founder

Hannah leads the operational, strategic, and ethical governance of Eleusium. As a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor, she ensures that every aspect of Eleusium’s work from service design to client experience reflects integrity, compassion, and regulatory compliance. Hannah bridges clinical practice, organizational strategy, and client safety to maintain Eleusium’s standard of excellence.

Clinical and Ethical Governance

All of Eleusium’s psychotherapists and facilitators adhere to the ethical frameworks of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

This includes commitments to informed consent, client autonomy, confidentiality, and evidence-based practice.

Our governance model also includes:

  • Regular clinical supervision and peer consultation for all practitioners

  • Ongoing training and certification in trauma-informed, somatic, and mindfulness-based approaches

  • Adherence to Ontario’s Health and Safety and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) standards

  • A commitment to continual learning in the evolving field of psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration

Relationship with the Center for Medicinal Mindfulness

Eleusium maintains an active relationship with the Center for Medicinal Mindfulness (CMM), based in Boulder, Colorado. CMM is one of the first licensed and professionally recognized psychedelic therapy training centers in North America.

Our practitioners are credentialed or in the process of credentialing with CMM in Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) and Mindfulness-Based Psychedelic Therapy (MBPT).

This relationship grounds our work in internationally recognized leading practices for psychedelic facilitation, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.

Through this affiliation, Eleusium aligns with the Medicinal Mindfulness Code of Ethics and the Principles of Conscious Cannabis Facilitation, ensuring that all ceremonial and integration work remains client-centered, non-directive, and grounded in safety and consent.

Risk Reduction and Safety

Our services are built on a foundation of risk reduction, not promotion.

We do not produce, sell, or distribute cannabis or any psychedelic substances. Instead, Eleusium focuses on education, preparation, and integration for individuals choosing to explore these experiences legally and responsibly.

We prioritize:

  • Pre-ceremony screening and preparation for psychological and physical safety

  • Informed consent for all clients engaging in psychedelic-related work

  • Post-experience integration to help individuals process and make meaning of their experiences

  • Crisis planning and grounding techniques to support stability and continuity of care

Cultural Awareness and Responsibility

At Eleusium, we hold deep respect for the histories and traditions that inform this work.

We do not claim to be Indigenous, nor do we borrow or represent Indigenous ceremonies, medicines, or lineages.

We honour and acknowledge the Indigenous peoples, healers, and wisdom keepers who have safeguarded relationships with plant medicines and consciousness-altering practices long before such work was recognized in Western frameworks.

Our approach is non-dogmatic and earth-based, drawing inspiration from our own cultural heritages and personal lineages. We commit to practicing cultural humility, transparency, and gratitude for those who have paved the way for us to do this work today.

Continuous Learning and Quality Assurance

Our governance model is a living framework. We review and refine our policies annually, incorporating client feedback, new research, and developments in ethical psychedelic care.

We are committed to:

  • Evolving with emerging standards in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy

  • Engaging with peer networks, educators, and researchers in the field

  • Upholding integrity, accountability, and compassion at every level of our practice
